I teach from my home in Low Fell, Gateshead. Attached to the teaching room is a small conservatory, equipped with various magazines, for those who are waiting while their child is having a lesson.

Students can use either a Yamaha 6'1" Conservatory Grand Piano or a Yamaha digital piano. Many younger pupils prefer the digital piano, as the option of playing pieces with different sounds appeals to them.

My lessons, while predominantly classical, include jazz, folk, popular and contemporary music. I follow either the ABRSM or Trinity College exam syllabuses for those students who wish to sit exams, with preparations being on the grand piano, since this is similar to the pianos used at the exam centres.
